Can You Make a House Think for Itself?
Explore the technology behind the smart devices we use every day! In this hands-on camp, campers will combine coding, electronics, sensors, and engineering to design and build their own mini smart home.
Projects may include an automatic night light, smart doorbell, security alarm, temperature monitor, and other creative smart-home features. Campers will learn how sensors collect information, how code controls different functions, and how multiple technologies can work together as one smart system.
No previous coding or electronics experience is required. The camp is suitable for both beginners and experienced makers, with projects and challenges adjusted to each camper’s skill level.
Campers Will Explore:
Coding • Sensors • Electronics • micro:bit • Engineering • Fabrication • Problem-Solving
Final Project:
A mini smart-home prototype featuring multiple programmed smart technologies.
