Calling all robotics enthusiasts to join us for a week-long Vex IQ Robotics Competition Boot Camp! Interested and committed campers will be invited to join the new Steamoji Vex IQ Competitive robotics team this fall. Apprentices ages 8-12 will be able to compete in designing, building and programming robots for different tasks. It’s time for bright ideas! In this camp, Apprentices will work with key STEAM skills to create their own RGB lamp. Using a combination of coding, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and circuit-building, they’ll plan, design, and build a creation straight out of their imagination. During this camp, they’ll take their builds all the way from a pen-and-paper concept to a fully functional light feature, which they can proudly bring home at the end of the week. Push, pull, lift or flip your opponent's robot out of the arena to claim victory and become the Steamoji Robo Battle Master! In this week-long camp, you’ll combine a whole suite of STEAM skills to design, prototype, code and build your very own battle robot that will face off against your fellow campers at the end of the week.

You will learn:

• Coding - Code a Micro:bit microcontroller as the “brain” of your battle bot
• Engineering - Planning, prototyping, evaluating and improving
• 3D Printing - Use 3D design and printing to make additional components for your robot

Incoming! In this camp, Apprentices will become engineers as they work in teams to build the strongest catapult and tallest tower that they can. To conquer the challenge, they'll learn about levers and mechanical advantage, building techniques and balance. As well as becoming masterful engineers, they’ll tap into their creative side and make colorful birds and mascots to launch from the catapult. On the last day, teams will face off to try and knock down their opponents' towers before their tower is tumbled, too!

Start with your brainpower and finish with a bang! In this physical computing camp, apprentices combine coding with a series of other STEM activities to bring their programming skills into action!

It’s all about connecting the digital world and the real world. The goal? Create a motion-sensor machine that can launch an object, play a game or simply say “hello”. To get there, apprentices will learn to code an Arduino microcontroller, and connect it to a device they’ve built using electrical engineering and fabrication skills. Come and see how far your skills can go – literally!

The Senior VEX Robotics Camp offers a deeper, more advanced robotics experience for older or more experienced students. Campers will take on complex builds, advanced coding concepts, and competitive-style challenges.

Senior campers will:
• Design and build more sophisticated VEX robot systems
• Use block-based or text-based coding (depending on skill level)
• Learn engineering strategies for speed, precision, and efficiency
• Tackle real-world style challenges and multi-step scenarios
• Compete in structured matches modeled after competitive robotics

This camp is designed for students ready to elevate their skills and think like engineers, innovators, and future competitors.

The Junior VEX Robotics Camp introduces students to the foundations of robotics through hands-on building and simple programming. Campers will explore how robots move, operate, and complete basic tasks while developing confidence in STEM skills.
