To get there, apprentices will learn to code an Arduino microcontroller, and connect it to a device they’ve built using electrical engineering and fabrication skills. Save the World with creative recycling! Ready to turn plastic waste into something amazing? In this week-long camp, you’ll combine technology, creativity, and sustainability to help protect our planet. Here’s what you’ll do: transform plastic bottles into eco-friendly 3D printing filament, design and 3D print awesome objects, like toys, gadgets, or tools, using your recycled filament, explore the science of recycling, learning how to reduce waste and take care of the environment, take part in a special challenge to design a product that can help solve a real-world problem!

This camp is perfect for curious kids who love technology, care about the environment, and want to unleash their creativity.

Discover the Magic of Recycling! Young creators, get ready to explore how we can turn trash into treasure! In this fun and hands-on camp, you’ll learn about recycling and use your creativity to make cool new things. Here’s what you’ll do: Transform plastic bottles into fun and colorful craft materials, use your imagination to design and decorate objects like toys, ornaments, or gadgets, learn the basics of recycling and how it helps protect our planet, work together with friends on a group project to create something amazing!

This camp is the perfect way for young learners to explore sustainability and have fun doing it!

Push, pull, lift or flip your opponent's robot out of the arena to claim victory and become the Steamoji Robo Battle Master! In this week-long camp, you’ll combine a whole suite of STEAM skills to design, prototype, code and build your very own battle robot that will face off against your fellow campers at the end of the week.

You will learn:

• Coding - Code a Micro:bit microcontroller as the “brain” of your battle bot
• Engineering - Planning, prototyping, evaluating and improving
• 3D Printing - Use 3D design and printing to make additional components for your robot

Loops! Jumps! Hair-pin bends! What's the most exciting roller coaster you can imagine? Now come and come build it. In this camp, apprentices join a team of like-minded engineers to dream up, design and construct a twisty downhill run. They'll turn cardboard, paper, straws and other household materials into a roller coaster... for marbles! Apprentices will learn every step of the design process as they research, prototype, test and assemble their marble run. By the end of the week they'll have built a fascinating, gravity-defying structure, that combines creativity with their new engineering skills. Let's Get Building!

Art history meets game strategy in this camp. Steamoji Junior Apprentices (ages 5-7) will invent and build their own art-inspired mini-games, merging artistic skills with critical thinking to combine the gallery with the game world. Every day is a creative bonanza where their imaginations set the scene and game design brings the structure, resulting in a collection of fun games that they’ve plotted and crafted themselves. From pens and markers to sculpting and LED lights, Apprentices will use classic and contemporary design principles as a springboard for their own unique artwork. It’s a place where math and art meet up to make magic. So – who’s ready to play?!

Incoming! In this camp, Apprentices will become engineers as they work in teams to build the strongest catapult and tallest tower that they can. To conquer the challenge, they'll learn about levers and mechanical advantage, building techniques and balance. As well as becoming masterful engineers, they’ll tap into their creative side and make colorful birds and mascots to launch from the catapult. On the last day, teams will face off to try and knock down their opponents' towers before their tower is tumbled, too!

Calling all robotics enthusiasts to join us for a week-long Vex IQ Competition Boot Camp this summer! Interested and committed campers will be invited to join the new Steamoji Vex IQ Competitive team this fall. Apprentices ages 8-12 will be able to compete in designing, building and programming robots for different tasks. It's a fun and hands-on way to develop coding, engineering, robotics, and teamwork skills!

Start with an idea, awaken it on the screen, and then bring it to life right in front of you. Digital storytelling meets fabrication in this camp, which taps into kids’ creativity across the entire STEAM spectrum. From sports to entertainment, apprentices will start each day with a new theme and follow their imaginations through a series of activities. They’ll use digital art skills and coding to create characters and stories in Scratch Jr., a visual programming language that gives kids their first taste of coding. From there, they’ll bring these characters into the real-world using principles of fabrication. Building mini games to designing graphics – it’s all about sparking ideas and using STEAM principles to tell stories. Come and find the exciting worlds that are waiting to be discovered in your imagination!

It’s time for bright ideas! In this camp, Apprentices will work with key STEAM skills to create their own RGB lamp. Using a combination of coding, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and circuit-building, they’ll plan, design, and build a creation straight out of their imagination. During this camp, they’ll take their builds all the way from a pen-and-paper concept to a fully functional light feature, which they can proudly bring home at the end of the week. Take a deeper dive into the world of gears with this dynamic and challenging week-long camp for budding engineers. You will design, fabricate, and assemble a variety of gears, exploring how they transmit power and motion, build your own fully functional mechanical clock, work in small teams to tackle fun engineering challenges and design custom gear-driven machines, discover how gears are used in real-world applications like vehicles, robotics, and clocks.

This camp is perfect for curious learners ready to think critically, problem-solve, and apply their creativity to real engineering concepts.

Little inventors, it’s time to explore the amazing world of motion and machines! In this fun and hands-on week long camp, you’ll: Create simple gears, build a working clock (with some help!) and learn how it ticks, play with mechanical toys and learn how gears bring them to life, use your imagination to design your own moving creations. With plenty of guided activities and fun storytelling, this camp introduces young learners to the basics of gears and how they work—all while having a blast!
